Observed at 41.3776° N, 71.8273° W: coastal Rhode Island, where Blizzard was painted. The Gulf Stream runs offshore through a warming Atlantic; in February 2026, a nor’easter broke Rhode Island’s snowfall record of 37.9 inches and buried the coast. The season’s earliest flora had already woken; then came the flash freeze. Plants woke early to warming, while migratory species arrived to a world already altered.
